Hello Friend,
Welcome to my e-newsletter, the Ready Room. As a retired Naval Aviator, the Ready Room is special to me because it’s where fellow aviators meet to brief and debrief missions. This is my weekly briefing to you on my mission in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for regular updates on how my team and I are working to serve you in Congress.
Holding the Pentagon Accountable
In September, my colleagues and I sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin expressing concern regarding racially divisive statements made by Kelisa Wing, a Pentagon employee in charge of school curriculums for military children. In her position, Ms. Wing is able to indoctrinate kids with dangerous ideologies and promote a hateful agenda. Not only have we not received a response from the Pentagon, but there are also reports that pornographic materials are flooding into Department of Defense school libraries—which are also under Ms. Wing's jurisdiction. In response, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and I co-authored a follow up letter demanding an update on the investigation into Ms. Wing's statements and answers as to why military children are being exposed to pornographic materials. The DoD must hold Ms. Wing accountable. Click here to read the letter.
