Polls are officially closed, and ballots are still being counted in my race.
It could be a while until we get the final results. But while we wait, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for powering our campaign to bring meaningful representation to California’s 45th Congressional District.
It's because of your donations, hours of volunteer shifts, votes -- even your words of encouragement -- that we still have a chance to flip this district from red to blue.
Last night was an incredible night for Democratic candidates. Many expected the midterm environment to favor Republicans significantly, but the red wave never came and we even flipped a US Senate seat in Pennsylvania!
To put it simply, last night was historic, and it's clear that the American people are ready to stand up for our democracy and fundamental rights in the face of extremism.
Again, I’m incredibly proud and thankful for the work we’ve done together. Regardless of how this race goes, I have seen our community's passion for change, and I remain optimistic for our future.
