Hi Friend,
On Veterans Day
we celebrate veterans from generations past, and we welcome new
generations of veterans each year as they complete their tenures of
service to our country.
Since our nation’s founding, brave
Americans from every generation have answered the call to serve in
uniform and put their lives on the line to defend this country. On
November 11th, as we mark Veterans Day, we honor all those men and
women who have served this nation in uniform.
We deeply appreciate the multiple
deployments, long separations from loved ones, and the tragic
consequences of war that these servicepeople have endured on our
behalf. Our country is safer because of the sacrifices each and every
one of our veterans have made.
As we have witnessed in our
collaborations with Team
Red, White and Blue, the Military
Child Education Coalition, and Iraq
Afghanistan Veterans of America, our veterans’ service didn’t end
when they took off the uniform, they continue their work to serve
their communities here at home. This year Responsibililty.org
collaborated with Mike Erwin, Founder and Executive Director of Team
Red, White and Blue, as well as Vice Admiral Andrew Lewis, USN (ret.)
in “Responsibility Starts with Me” videos (linked below) to raise
awareness of the growing concern regarding alcohol misuse within the
veteran community.
Let us all renew our pledge to
care for those who have borne the battle with bravery and distinction.
I challenge each of us to find a means to thank a veteran both on
Veterans Day and throughout the rest of the year as well.
To all of our veterans and your
families – thank you for everything you have done for our country. You
are among the best of us, and we deeply appreciate your service and
sacrifice.
