Apples are an iconic part of fall, but 80% of apples contain diphenylamine, an EU-banned pesticide linked to cancer. Non-organic apples in the U.S. are drenched with diphenylamine after harvest to prevent brown spots, putting apples in 5th place on EWG’s Dirty Dozen list.

Although fresh produce is always best, many parents turn to dried fruit and fruit leathers for easy after-school snacks for kids. But EWG’s brand new test results show dried fruit snacks contain worrying levels of pesticides. See the full results here.
