Dear John, It’s the day after Election Day, and there’s a lot of uncertainty. Many of the races we’re watching are still too close to call. The governor’s race is incredibly close. With ballots left to collect and count throughout the state, it could go either way. We’re confident in Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s race (CD-05) securing another pro-life seat in Congress. Currently, she’s safely leading Jamie McLeod Skinner by about five percent. In the Sixth Congressional District, Mike Erickson is right behind Andrea Salinas. Kim Thatcher (R–Keizer) continues to hold her lead in a Democratic-leaning district. Suzanne Weber (R–Tillamook) looks to have picked up a seat, putting us closer to a majority in the state senate. Bill Kennemer (R–Oregon City) is still close behind his opponent. Unfortunately, Randy Sparacino (R–Medford) and Raquel Moore-Green (R–Salem) are both running behind at this point. In the Oregon house, Kevin Mannix (R–Salem) is also holding his lead and Tracy Cramer (R–Gervais) also appears to have picked up another seat in her first run for office! Both of these house districts have more registered Democrats than Republicans. Cyrus Javadi (R–Tillamook) is leading narrowly. We’re incredibly excited to tell you that the pro-life candidates for Lane and Deschutes county commissions are doing very well. In Lane County, Ryan Ceniga currently leads by over ten percent! In Deschutes County, Tony DeBone and Patti Adair are both ahead by a few points. Although we are very optimistic about many of these races, a lot of ballots still need to be counted. Especially in the closer races, we could easily see candidate leads shift over the next week. Because everyone deserves an advocate, Trevor Lane |
