Hi John,
You did it! Yesterday’s re-election of Gov. Tony Evers shows the collective impact we can have. From your generous gifts to your actions to your vote – this win is yours. Thank you!
Not only did you re-elect Gov. Evers, but you maintained his veto power by electing conservation champions down ballot. You used your voice and chose people who will defend our freedom to vote, protect our waters, and fight for a sustainable Wisconsin.
As a member and supporter of Wisconsin Conservation Voters, you can be proud of the work we did to make this success possible. We ran one of the largest campaigns of any organization this election cycle, spending $3.8 million, knocking on 375,000 doors, and talking to voters about issues they care about – like climate change, safe drinking water, and a strong democracy. I’m especially proud that we focused so much of our work on the positives – letting voters know how our candidates were standing up for them and their quality of life.
We’re still waiting on final election results and we’ll have much more analysis and information coming in the days and weeks ahead, but I want to make sure you understand how your vote, your work, and your dollars made this achievement possible.
We’ll be hosting a post-election member briefing on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sign up here to attend and hear more about how we won, why it matters for conservation, and how we’ll be carrying this momentum forward into the Wisconsin Supreme Court race in April.
Wisconsin led the nation in voter turnout. You turned out – and every vote counted. Let’s use this momentum to continue to make progress for a stronger, healthier Wisconsin. You can become a sustaining member today and continue this fight for clean energy, clean water, and democracy going strong.
As Gov. Evers said last night, “We're gonna polka tonight and get back to work tomorrow.”
