Last night, voters across the country sent an undeniable message to Trump and his MAGA followers: we will not back down. And while votes are still being tallied, Democrats have already achieved momentous victories where it matters most—at the state level. We ushered in historic trifectas in Michigan and Minnesota, and are poised to make significant gains in the Pennsylvania House. And, we held fast to legislative majorities in Colorado and Washington, and won enough seats to protect the Democratic governors’ veto power in Wisconsin and North Carolina.

In a midterm year, Democrats bucked historical trends and forecasts and made strategic gains in key chambers across the country, which will result in policies to improve people’s lives and protect abortion, defend the climate, strengthen the economy, and more. You made this happen—let that sink in.

We can keep Trump out of the White House and MAGA Republicans out of our state houses. But this work takes all of us, and it starts now. Please donate $15 to help us continue this work!

Our candidates are leading the way. Already, 17 Sister District candidates and alumni have won their races in Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. They ran tireless campaigns in close races where every single vote mattered, and because of your hard work, many of them will proudly serve in their state capitals next year.

We are thrilled, but not shocked. Despite Republican-led voter suppression, gerrymandering, and outright lies, our candidates fought fearlessly, and our volunteers showed up in full force. To be sure, Democrats didn’t sweep every seat and chamber. But, with abortion access and the future of our democracy on the line, voters made their voices heard. And our community supported them.

• We raised $1.3 million from 70,133 donations for candidates and community-based partners, making 2022 our second-highest year for fundraising ever.
• We helped build strong campaigns early, with 84% of our dollars raised for candidates before September 1.
• We reached out to more than half a million voters through calls, doors, texts, and postcards.
• We made a jaw-dropping 75% of our candidates’ calls to voters on average.
• We completed over 50 campaign services projects, providing individualized support to our candidates and their staff on field, finance, paid media, mail, rapid response communications, and more.
• We endorsed an inspiring, diverse set of candidates. Of our 2022 class, 72% identify as women and gender minorities, and 61% are candidates of color.
• We already know we played a pivotal role in extremely close races. For instance, Jasmine Clark (GA HD-108) won by just 898 votes. And, as of this writing, Melissa Cerrato (PA HD-151) is currently down by just 26 votes.

In 2023, we’ll be working to take back the House of Delegates in Virginia, as well as to build power in Louisiana and Mississippi. And we’re also already gearing up for 2024 and the fight to keep MAGA Republicans out of state legislatures and the White House.

John, this is all because of your hard work. We feel energized and inspired by you and our candidates, and are more determined than ever to continue this fight. We’re so thankful that you’re here with us.
