Friend, last night was a historic moment for our campaign. I am honored to be elected the first woman to represent Illinois’ 13th District in Congress.

An incredible staff, an army of volunteers, and countless supporters made this possible. Together, we showed that we could win by talking about the issues that matter most to the people of Central and Southern Illinois – like lowering costs, ensuring fair wages and safe places to work, and making sure families have a chance to get ahead. 

Now it’s time to roll up our sleeves and fight for what we believe in. I’ve spent my entire career bringing people together, and I’m committed to continue reaching across the aisle to build a brighter future for all communities throughout IL-13. 

Again, thank you for making this possible and for believing in me. Your friendship and support allowed us to have this historic moment, and I’m forever grateful.

Democrat Nikki Budzinski is running for Congress in Illinois' 13th District. This district is currently in Republican hands, and is by far one of the most competitive in the entire country.

Nikki has spent her life fighting for workers and working families by strengthening unions nationwide, and she was instrumental in passing a $15 minimum wage in Illinois while working as a senior advisor for Governor JB Pritzker. Most recently, Nikki served in President Biden's administration in the office that implemented the American Rescue Plan.
