John,

Well, I know one thing, there sure as hell wasn't anything resembling a red wave last night. a red puddle? Nope. A Blue Crush is a better way to put it.

And now it's time to finish it off with a U.S. Senate win for Raphael Warnock!

On election day, Democrats picked up a Senate seat in Pennsylvania. As of this moment, we've held every governorship, and may even pick one up in Arizona! We flipped the state senate and state house in Michigan, where we held onto the governorship and will have a governing majority! We did the same in Minnesota. This is huge news for abortion rights, voting rights, gun safety and so much more!

While it hurt that Tim Ryan lost under a flood of $50 million in SuperpAC spending from a billionaire who wants to live forever (Peter Thiel) and a snapping turtle (Mitch McConnell), we picked up a House seat and held onto two other swing House seats in Ohio. It also hurt we barely lost Senate seats in North Carolina (Cheri Beasley) and Wisconsin (Mandela Barnes).

It looks like we'll hold the Senate...though now is where it comes down to us. As Shakespeare once wrote, "once more unto the breach, dear friends." As both incredible public servant, Rapael Warnock leads lunatic, Herschel Walker, by just under 1%, that's good news! But, Georgia, in another anachronism of its Jim Crow past, requires candidates to get over 50% or there is a run off between the top two. That is where we're headed, with an election on December 6th.

Obviously there are two Democrats in the Senate who like to preen and howl, and are not always willing to support us when we need it. So we need EVERY. SEAT. WE. CAN. WIN. Also, Herschel Walker held a gun to his wife's head and threatened her life, stalked another woman forcing her to report him to the police, while Raphael Warnock is an inspiration who preaches from the podium once occupied by Martin Luther King, Jr.

So can you join with Blue Amp Action to donate $5, $10, $25 or whatever you can afford to Senator Raphael Warnock, so that he can come out victorious and we have another Democratic Senator to fight for our democracy and progressive ideals in the Senate?

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do. Our fight goes on.

Cliff

About BlueAmp Action:

We cannot sugarcoat the current situation. Right-wing authoritarianism, defeated by a worldwide coalition during WWII, was only in hibernation. Over the past decade it has infected democratic societies--including ours. It is as simple as it is terrifying: What we do now will define the future of our country and world.

We at Blue Amp Action are dedicated to liberal, open societies, where reason and science are applied to solve our problems; where civil rights--including voting rights!--are protected for all. We fight for these values every day. Speaking up on our platforms, raising the voices and the political prospects of liberal pols and pundits.

So we ask that you support our work, so we can continue to engage in this fight every moment of every day. So our kids grow up in democracy, not dystopia.

Thank you for your support for all we do! Please follow Cliff Schecter on Twitter @cliffschecter, or subscribe to The Takedown with Cliff Schecter on YouTube, to keep up to date with this battle for the heart and soul of our country.
