Welcome to Wednesday, November 9th, watchers and updaters...

Election results are still coming in. We have live updates here

Democrat John Fetterman wins Pennsylvania's Senate seat, defeating Republican Mehmet Oz. This boosts Democrats' hopes of keeping the Senate, as Republicans continue to hope for a red wave.

Both parties are increasing diversity in their elected officials. Democrat Maura Healey is Massachusetts' first female governor and the nation's first lesbian state executive. Maryland Democrat Wes Moore is the state's first Black governor. And Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders is the first female governor of Arkansas.

Around one-fourth of voters reported feeling positive about the economy's current conditions, while three-quarters reported feeling negative. The preliminary national exit polls show that most midterm voters opposed the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v.
