And here are a few highlights about our Emerge New Mexico alums who made history.
Reena Szczepanski is the first Indian American woman serving in the New Mexico State House, District 47.
Janelle Anyanonu, a first time candidate, won her race to represent Albuquerque's House District 19.
Emerge New Mexico alums across the state played a key role in growing the Democratic majority in the State Legislature. So far, 19 Emerge New Mexico alums won seats in the State House of Representatives.
These wins, in addition to major wins in judicial, county, and congressional offices throughout the state, move us one step closer to ensuring that Emerge woman and non-binary leaders are representing New Mexicans in nearly every level of government. Join us in congratulating them on these incredible wins.
Thank you to the amazing 38 Emerge New Mexico alums who ran for office! We are so proud of and inspired by all of you.
By standing up, you all made a significant difference in New Mexico's political landscape and paved the way for the future. We know that you will continue to lead your communities, far past the election. We cannot wait to see what you do next and we are so excited to cheer you along every step of the way.
In community and solidarity,
