John,

It’s the morning after the election, and though we don’t yet have a complete picture of which party will control Congress, one thing is absolutely clear: Thanks to our organizing on the ground, we shrank the widely-predicted “red wave” to a puddle.

Several Senate races and dozens of House races remain undecided, but we know that democracy and the progressive agenda won in many key races across the country. We’re proud of the role that Food & Water Action and our members and volunteers played in achieving this result — an outcome that many thought impossible.

The following Food & Water Action supported candidates were elected because of these efforts — and because of yours:

Summer Lee for U.S House in Pennsylvania’s 12th district
Chris Deluzio for U.S House in Pennsylvania’s 17th district
John Fetterman for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania
Jamaal Bowman for U.S House in New York’s 16th district
Maxwell Alejandro Frost for U.S House in Florida's 10th district
Nikki Budzinski for U.S House in Illinois' 13th district
Kathy Hochul for New York governor
and many more!

Food & Water Action mobilized voters in key districts by making over 433,000 calls, writing 9,760 letters, knocking on more than 27,000 doors, and helping people cast their votes for a progressive majority. We built on long-term grassroots power to accomplish these goals. And our strategy worked!

While we are proud of what happened yesterday and we take a moment to celebrate our key victories, there is more work to be done.

We won’t know which party controls Congress until all the votes are counted, but we do know that now is the time to make sure Congress works for all of us. We are going to push harder than ever to ensure our leaders in Washington — and across the country — hear us on the issues of clean water, safe food and a livable climate. That’s where we need you, John.

Will you make a gift to Food & Water Action to provide the resources for our long-term strategy to protect food and water, and to fight climate change by banning fossil fuels?

We’re already working on our strategy for the next two years to end fossil fuels, guarantee clean water for all and create a more sustainable food system. We’ll take on the fights others think impossible – and we’ll win (we saw that happen yesterday).

You can continue to be a part of our wins by making a gift to Food & Water Action. All donations today will have THREE times the impact.

Thanks to you and our work together, we can be proud of our accomplishments. Let’s take on the next big fights together.

Onward together,

Wenonah Hauter

P.S. Join us on Wednesday, November 16 from 7:00-8:00pm ET for our event, Who Won & What’s Next? Interpreting the Election Results.
