Dear John,
While the results of the NE-01 Congressional Election aren’t what we’d hoped for, I’m truly overwhelmed with gratitude.
It’s a humbling experience to have so many people put their trust in me to get our state on a better, kinder path to progress. Whether you read my emails, told a friend about my campaign, volunteered, made a donation, voted, or cheered me on from afar, I want you to know that this campaign would never have been possible without you.
We always knew this election cycle would be tough under these extraordinary circumstances — including an unprecedented special election back in June — but despite all the chaos, you have stood firmly by my side using your grassroots power to get us to this point. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for fighting alongside me.
John, I want to remind you that now is not the time to hang our heads. Together, we have accomplished incredible things: Because of your work, our district has mobilized the strongest support of any Democratic candidate here in CD1 since 1964 — that’s huge. And it’s a testament to the amazing people who have put so much time and effort into this campaign.
This run for Congress has always been about service, and I am ready to serve wherever I am needed. For now, that’s right here in our community. And I will continue to put my time, my energy, and my love into making this community one of the strongest in our beautiful state.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for sticking by my side for the past year. I feel blessed beyond measure to have the best grassroots team in Nebraska.
