John,

The results are in and the people have spoken: Minnesota has a PRO-CHOICE TRIFECTA. Pro-choice voters turned out in waves and won pro-choice majorities in both the Minnesota State House and State Senate and re-elected pro-choice champions to all statewide offices. Minnesota voters have decisively rejected an anti-choice agenda in favor of reproductive freedom. Pro-choice women candidates were critical in these victories.

These results mean abortion access is here to stay in Minnesota.

Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan and State Auditor Julie Blaha were re-elected and will ensure ALL Minnesotans have the healthcare they need.

U.S. Representatives Angie Craig, Betty McCollum, and Ilhan Omar are headed back to Congress to continue their critical work.

Anti-choice State Senate AND State House - FLIPPED. These victories pave the way for meaningful progress on reproductive freedom.

100% of pro-choice women incumbents in the legislature who were on the ballot WON RE-ELECTION and will be going back to the Capitol to protect abortion access in Minnesota.

Pro-choice women increased representation in both legislative chambers. Come January, there will be 38 pro-choice women serving in the House and 19 pro-choice women serving in the Senate.

History was made - Minnesota elected the first Black women to the Minnesota State Senate – Erin Maye Quade, Zaynab Mohamed, and Clare Oumou Verbeten – and the first openly transgender woman to the Minnesota Legislature – Leigh Finke. These historic wins are a step forward in our fight for a more representative, equitable government.

Our victories last night are because of this coalition – pro-choice women who run for office and the community that stands with them. The actions you took - voting, donating, organizing, volunteering - are the reason we can breathe a little bit easier today in Minnesota.

Though we plan to raise our glasses and celebrate, Women Winning’s work does not end on Election Day. The reason pro-choice women are able to run for office and WIN is because we work year round to recruit, train, and support these powerful leaders. Contribute to our work so that we can build on today’s victories for years to come . [[link removed]]

Stay tuned for a more detailed look at our election results in the coming days!
