The election is officially over, and the results of our race here in Washington's 8th District are still too close to call.

While ballots are continuing to be counted, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. To all the volunteers who doorbelled, made phone calls, hosted canvass launches, and contributed to this campaign, I am deeply grateful. To those who filled in the bubble next to my name on the ballot, I'm honored to have had your support as we worked to defend this House seat. I also want to thank the tremendous election workers who have been working so hard, with high turnout, to provide definitive results.

I've taken nothing for granted. I am feeling so encouraged by these results tonight, but this was always going to be a close race. In the meantime we will continue to ensure that every vote is counted and everyone’s voice is heard.

Regardless of the outcome, I am proud of what we've been able to accomplish. This campaign has been about a choice of who this district wants representing them in Congress, and my record speaks for itself on how hard I have worked for this district – traveling over 17,000 miles and holding 98 town halls to hear directly from my constituents. I've gone to bat for this district, and we've lowered prescription drug costs, provided COVID-19 relief, passed historic infrastructure and climate bills, and so much more.

Serving as your representative is the privilege of a lifetime. I am hopeful that when all is said and done, I will be able to continue to represent the 8th District in Congress.
