Friends,

Over the last year, we have knocked on doors, talked to voters, and taken the issues facing our country head on. Now, the polls have closed and thanks to you, we have overwhelmingly won our campaign for the United States House of Representatives. I am deeply honored to have earned your support and the trust of our community.

We are facing the greatest threat to our democracy in generations as extremists challenge our fundamental freedoms every day. With Congressmembers Alan Lowenthal and Lucille Roybal-Allard retiring after years of dedicated service, I am honored to take up the fight for the America we all believe in.

I love this country, and I am proud to call myself a patriot. I believe it is up to all of us to remind each other that patriotism is not America First, but America for All. In Congress, I’ll be ready on day one to help build a fair immigration system, secure reproductive rights for women, and rebuild our infrastructure for a green and sustainable future. Together, I know we can create an economy for working people, and a democracy that represents us all.

It has been an honor to serve as Mayor of Long Beach for the last 8 years. I look forward to the weeks ahead as we transition out of City Hall and into the Capitol.
