John,
We’ve just won the race for District 10! As ballots continue to be counted across the city, I just want to share how excited I am to continue to represent our home for four more years.
Serving as your District 10 Supervisor and as President of the Board of Supervisors has been one of the highest honors in my life. When I launched my re-election campaign, I vowed to advocate for the most vulnerable, the most overlooked among us, and fight to make San Francisco a better, more livable place for every one of us.
Now with this victory in hand, it’s time that we return to City Hall and continue to bring our voices to the decision-making table.
I also want to take a moment to say thank you to each of my supporters. Above all else, this campaign has been about community–you have shown up for me in so many ways. Not only did you vote for me, but many of you joined me in knocking on doors, dropping literature, and encouraging your friends to vote. Some of you even made your music video debut for this campaign! And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that support.
San Francisco is a city that believes in the highest progressive values. We know that every citizen of our city deserves a stable income, a clean and safe neighborhood, and an affordable place to live, no matter what part of the city they may call home.
Now, we get to work turning that vision into a reality. I will continue to work to address the systemic disparities in our housing, criminal justice, and labor systems to fight for our low-income and working-class neighborhoods, Asian, Pacific Islander, Black and Brown San Franciscans, immigrants, and all who have been historically marginalized.
Thank you so much for your support, this victory is for each of us, I can’t wait to continue working together!
Onward,
Shamann
