This election season has been a whirlwind for Denver DSA!
From battling entrenched corporate interests to secure two Denver DSA candidate wins in the Colorado State Legislature primaries — to fighting corporate greed by contributing to a ballot initiative giving all Denver renters free legal support when facing eviction — we've put our hearts and souls into building power for the working class through the ballot box.
Tonight, we're celebrating major wins:
Elisabeth Epps has been elected to the Colorado State House (HD6)!
Denver DSA member, community leader & abolitionist Elisabeth Epps ran a strong, community-centered campaign from the beginning, winning her primary race against a candidate hand-picked by the Democratic establishment. She overcame nearly $700,000 spent by corporate interests and dark money groups to attack her. Denver DSA was thrilled to support her campaign every step of the way, from signature gathering through canvassing and GOTV. Congratulations, Elisabeth!
Javier Mabrey has been elected to the Colorado State House (HD1)!
Denver DSA member & eviction defense attorney Javier Mabrey has spent his career fighting to keep people in their homes. From facing homelessness personally to working to keep people in their home, Javier is ready to take the fight for working class Coloradans to the State House as the elected representative of HD6! Denver DSA was proud to support Javier through canvassing, and later through GOTV efforts with NEWR. Congratulations, Javier!
