Friends,
Thank you.
I am so humbled and deeply honored by the vote of confidence and trust voters have delivered at the ballot box.
Tonight’s returns in California reflect our results. We have fought for public safety, for working families, and for the fundamental rights we hold dear. Together, we have accomplished so much.
But our work isn’t done. The results at the national level affirm it. Voter intimidation, court-packing, gerrymandering, and election denial have become assaults on our democracy, and they have left a wound that continues to deepen.
But no matter what happens, no matter what radical Republicans try to throw our way in the coming months, we will fight back.
From the governor’s race on down the ballot, to Proposition 1 enshrining reproductive freedom into the California constitution, our state remains a bright light for America, and we will continue the work to spread that light across the nation – because that’s the California way. We are a place of hope, freedom, and opportunity for all who seek it, and I promise today and every day that I will always defend and fight for our way of life.
Let’s celebrate the wins we’ve made tonight, and then let’s wake up in the morning and continue the fight to make our state, and our country, a better place.
Thank you for your friendship and support.
Onward!
Rob Bonta
California Attorney General
