BIG news from California, John: Robert Garcia just declared victory in his campaign for the U.S. House - and just made history as the first out LGBTQ immigrant elected to the U.S. Congress!
Both Robert and his opponent, John Briscoe, advanced in California’s jungle primary earlier this year. Briscoe made it clear he would dismantle the right to choose and LGBTQ equality. But while he was racking up bad headlines, Robert was hard at work in his second term as mayor of Long Beach. He was a leader in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, addressed homelessness in the city and prioritized equality for members of the LGBTQ and immigrant communities.
We know Mayor Garcia will be a strong voice for equality in the U.S. House. Add your name and let him know you’re rooting for him here!
Thanks for celebrating with us tonight,
