It’s official folks: I’ve won re-election and will continue serving Alabama’s 7th District in Congress for another term.
First, I have to say thank you. This grassroots team proved tonight that we will not sit idly by and let our rights be stripped away. We’ve reached this point because all of us stood together to keep moving America’s Civil Rights District forward.
And for that, I can’t say thank you enough.
But as we celebrate tonight’s victory, it’s important that we remember that our work is not done. Our democracy is still under attack. Reproductive freedom still is not guaranteed. The right to vote is still being targeted.
But believe me when I say, as I head back to Congress to lift my community up, I’m more determined than ever to put in the work to push us forward.
Thank you for standing with me throughout this campaign. Now, let’s get to work.
