I’m Georgie Dansey – Labour candidate for Hamilton West! I wanted to send you a quick email to introduce myself and ask for your support in this by-election (whether you're in Hamilton or not!)

I've spent my career in education, working in the Waikato. It's where I've seen first hand the power of progressive governments to change people's lives.

I'm also a union leader and a small business owner and I’ve lived in Hamilton for over 20 years. So I know what an awesome place it can be to grow up, build a career and raise a family. ❤️

My sole focus in this by-election is accelerating progress for my community. I’ve seen first hand the positive impact our Labour government has had on Waikato. We’re upgrading more than 200 schools, investing in new transport links, and adding a new local mental health facility. Unemployment is down and the economy is growing. And I’ll be incredibly proud to continue this mahi if I’m elected.

This by-election is going to be tough. Labour has only won in Hamilton West once out of the last five elections. I’m going to have to work very hard over the next few weeks to introduce myself and my vision for Hamilton to as many people as possible. And we need all hands on deck John.

Every election needs ads, hoardings, and leaflets to help get the message out. Here are just some of the ways you can help:

• $20 gives the campaign about 250 leaflets
• $50 gives the campaign a couple of hoardings
• $100 gives the campaign a day on a large electronic billboard
• $500 gives the campaign three days on a electronic billboard AND about four hoardings AND about 1,000 leaflets
