I’ve been writing to you about this day for nearly two years, and it is finally here.  Today is the day we have been working for — and soon we will know the results of all that work.  But we already know that #TeamLizzie is an incredible coalition of people who are working to make our world better for all of us.  

I am honored and proud to be a part of it, and I am so grateful to everyone on this team.  So, before the polls close, I want to thank you for all you have done for me and for this campaign.  And I want to share a little bit of what your partnership has made possible:

This election, we were able to put an important message on broadcast and cable television over five weeks, reaching nearly 2.5 million Texas households in 23 counties about the issues at stake in this election and the importance of voting:

We ran ads on the radio with a similar message to voters about the stakes in this election, and how much their vote matters.

We sent four mailers to more than 125,000 voters in TX-07 with detailed information about our campaign, our coalition, and our values.

We put ads up on digital platforms from Facebook to YouTube to connected television streaming services to reach TX-07 voters in apps and online to get people to the polls. 

We took out advertisements in local newspapers and magazines with information voters need to know!

And we had an incredible on-the-ground effort with our campaign staff and volunteer team here in Houston.  We knocked on thousands of doors, sent nearly seven thousand handwritten postcards to TX-07 voters, reminded voters to get to the polls with GOTV texts and phone calls, and visited people and places across the new TX-07.

Everything you have done — from knocking on doors and sending texts to writing checks and clicking “contribute” all the times we’ve asked (and I know it was a lot!) — has made it possible for this campaign to be the best it could be.

While we don’t yet know the results of today’s election, we know how consequential the election will be, and how important it was to do all we have done in 2022.  I’m proud of the campaign we’ve run, and I hope you are, too.  We could not have it all without everyone on #TeamLizzie.
