Dear John, Today is Election Day, and there's so much at stake for our LGBTQ+ loved ones. It's critical to fill out your ballot all the way to the bottom. Congress and the President get more coverage for the decisions they make and the laws they pass, but it’s the city and county ordinances, school board resolutions, and state laws that have the greatest impact on your life; PFLAGers across the country have been feeling that impact on a daily basis. From state Attorneys General to state Secretaries of State to school board and city council members, your vote makes an impact on your community and the LGBTQ+ people you know and love. Check out pflag.org/Vote for great voter resources. Get informed on candidate positions on the issues and make an informed decision when you cast your ballot. And remember, no one has the right to stop you from voting. Stay in line, cast your ballot, and remember that if you run into problems at your polling place, there's a voter protection hotline available in multiple languages to help you. Vote as if lives depend on it--because they do. Thank you for making your voice heard at the ballot box!
