Dear Friend,

2019 was a remarkable year for AFSCME.

It was a year of robust growth, bold activism and astounding success. It was a year in which we reaped the rewards of the AFSCME Strong campaign and defied the so-called experts with our courage and resilience.

From New Jersey to New Mexico, public service workers have organized to become part of our union. In Illinois and Pennsylvania, state employees have new contracts that honor their commitment to public service. Nevada state workers and California child care providers won long struggles for collective bargaining rights. We helped elect pro-worker governors in Virginia, Kentucky and Louisiana. Worker activism is on the rise, and the values of unionism – the values we fight for every day – are front and center.

We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store. We have plenty of challenges, but a lot to look forward to. Seizing the opportunities of the coming year will require a firm commitment from all of us. Sign here to make a New Year’s resolution: that you’ll fight even harder to make us AFSCME Strong in 2020.

Thank you for everything and happy new year.

In solidarity,

Lee Saunders
AFSCME President

Elissa McBride
AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer
