As a kid, I never could have imagined this moment. Growing up in the 1960s South, no one gave me a chance to do much of anything — but I made my way. I became the first in my family to graduate college, then Orlando's first woman chief of police, and finally I flipped my Congressional district blue.

I can't thank you enough for dreaming of a better America with me – one where a poor Black girl from Jacksonville can grow up to run in one of the most competitive Senate races in the country. Because of you, I'm tied with Marco Rubio, and I just need to ask for your help one last time.
