Hi there,

Today is Election Day! I will keep this short and to the point. If you are an Election Day voter like me, then you have two options for getting in your ballot today. Option one – mail it! You don’t even need a stamp, just make sure your ballot is postmarked today. Option two – drop off your ballot at an official drop box by 8pm tonight! Find your nearest drop box here.

When filling out your ballot, make sure to check out OLCV’s endorsements. These are the candidates who will prioritize climate action and protect what we love about Oregon for future generations. Your vote will help ensure we elect climate champions to every level of office – from governor to the state legislature to local government. As you know, the governor’s race is a dead heat, and the future of climate action in Oregon depends on who shows up to vote in this election. So, let’s show up and vote for Tina Kotek!

If you have already mailed or dropped off your ballot, then today is the day we need your help to make sure your friends and family are good voters as well. Right now, can you take a minute to call or text three friends or family members and remind them to return their ballot today?

Now, I am off for my favorite part of Election Day – taking my dog Luna for a walk to drop off my ballot at my local library’s ballot drop box. I know I am not the only one who loves voting on Election Day. I am always encouraged by all the others I see walking up to drop off their ballot, too. For all the Election Day voters, let’s go make our votes count!

Thanks for being a climate voter!

Lindsey Scholten

Deputy Director, OLCV.
