Well, we made it. Today is Election Day, and we’re about to find out if the hard work we’ve been putting in has paid off.
First things first, please share this link — IWillVote.com — far and wide to help make sure anyone who needs to cast a ballot today gets the job done. Folks can find all the details they need on polling locations, ballot drop boxes, hours, etc.
If you’re like me, the next several hours will be filled with anxiety (and probably too much coffee). My advice is: Don’t spend it stressed out and constantly refreshing the news. Instead, when you have a free hour, find a place to help reach voters in the final hours.
No matter what happens after polls close, I want you to know that I am enormously grateful for your support — and so very proud of this team for everything we’ve done together to defend our democracy.
The truth is, this organization was started at least in part out of a sense of fear — fear for our democratic foundation, and for what could happen if we let people who spread lies about our elections oversee them. But over the past year, it became so much bigger than fear — it’s about patriotism, and it’s about our shared determination to hold on to the ideals this country was founded on.
I’m hopeful that our efforts will pay off at the polls today — but I know that the work doesn’t end today, no matter the outcome. The threats we face aren’t going away in one election. I also know this team will never back down from the fight.
Like you, we’ll be monitoring the results of these key secretary of state races carefully, and I’ll be in touch as we learn more.
Thank you for everything.
Amy
