Who Has the Right to Vote? The Struggle for Voting Rights
Today is Election Day in America! We thought it was the perfect time to reflect on the struggles throughout history to expand voting rights in the United States. BRI has several

resources on the 15th Amendment ,
[link removed]
the 19th Amendment , and
[link removed]
the Voting Rights Act of 1965 . That legislation removed the barriers to African American voting which were erected by white Southerners in the decades following the passage of the 15th Amendment in 1870.
