Beyond Trophy Hunting ( [link removed] ) will explore a post trophy hunting world with our world-class panel of speakers who will discuss practical alternatives and how we can overcome the challenges to achieve this goal. I am therefore delighted to announce our third expert panellist who will be joining Prof. Judi Wakhungu and Dr Ralph Chami:
Tom Lalampaa
Tom Lalampaa is a leading African conservationist and champion for community conservation across Kenya. CEO of the Northern Rangelands Trust, Tom was instrumental in the Trust’s development – now comprising 41 community-owned and run conservancies, covering nearly 23,000 square miles. Having served as vice-chairperson of the Wildlife Security Task Force, Tom is Vice Chair of the Grevy’s Zebra Trust board and Board member of The Nature Conservancy.
In 2013, Tom was awarded the Tusk Conservation Award by the Duke of Cambridge for his outstanding contribution to Kenya’s communities and wildlife. Other accolades include Stanford University Law School’s Bright Award for Environment Sustainability. He was a key presenter during Barack Obama’s 2015 visit to Kenya, has briefed US Congressional Staff on Capitol Hill, and gave the Tusk Trust Conservation Lecture, London, in 2020.
Our special evening begins at 6pm with a cash bar available. The discussion and live stream starts at 7pm and the formal event will finish by around 9pm.
