Dear John,
Since I
announced my candidacy for At Large, I have been speaking with voters
across the city about public safety, affordable housing and growing
inequality in the city. For the last 10 years on the DC Council, I
have come up with research-driven and innovative ways to make
neighborhoods safer, more affordable and
better equipped to tackle our city’s racial wealth gap.
And let
me be clear: there is still a lot of work to be
done.
Now talk
is cheap and just like you, I expect the people who ask for our vote
to come up with real strategies on how to address some of our city’s
most pressing challenges, even when it gets tough, you may receive
backlash or the cameras stop rolling because it isn’t the news of the
day.
I promise
you this: if elected At Large, you can count on me to continue the
hard work.
But don’t
just take my word for it.
I am asking for one of your two At Large votes because I want our
city and its leadership focused on what really matters.
In Service,
Kenyan
