Reid: Most People Never Used the Word ‘Inflation’ in Their Lives Until GOP Taught It to Them

Thursday on MSNBC’s Deadline, racist network host Joy Reid claimed she never heard everyday people use the word “inflation” until Republicans turned it into a campaign issue.

Reid said, “You know what is interesting too, is that I have actually never heard a person who isn’t an economist or works on CNBC, I used to do CNBC a lot as a guest, I used to do The Larry Kudlow Show all the time, a couple of times a week, and the only people I ever heard use the word ‘inflation’ are journalists and economists. So that is not part of the normal lexicon of the way people talk. So, it’s interesting Republicans are doing something they don’t normally do which is use the common tongue not use just common English to do on their campaigns like they have with crime.”

She added, “But what they’ve done is they’ve taught people the word inflation. Most people who would’ve never used that word ever in their lives are using it now because they’ve been taught it, including on TV, including in newspapers. They’ve been taught this word.”

Of all the Democrat attempts to downplay the surging inflation inflicted on Americans by the Biden administration, this has to be the most insultingly lame — the claim that Americans never used the word or didn’t even know it until Republicans made an issue out of it. How stupid do the Democrats, MSNBC, and Joy Reid think Americans are?

Reid Says “Education” Is a Racist “Code” Word

During MSNBC’s election-night coverage on November 2, 2021, Reid — noting that in the state of Virginia, where many parents’ opposition to the teaching of Critical Race Theory principles in their children’s schools had led them to support Republican candidates rather than Democrats — claimed that those parents were essentially racists: “[T]he exit polls showed that — which was interesting — that the coronavirus, or that the virus was a very — was not important to many voters there. It was education, which is code for white parents don’t like the idea of teaching about race. And I mean, unfortunately, race is just the most palpable tool in the toolkit. It used to be of the Democratic Party back in the day when they were Dixiecrats, and now of the Republican Party. It just is powerful.”
