Dear Friend,

I’m Santiago Martinez, Partner at Arena.

When Arena Academy ends, our grads get to work on races across the country. This cycle, we have 210 Arena-trained staff working on campaigns from city council to the U.S. Senate and beyond.

While it would be impossible to list them all out in one email, here are a handful of the races we’ll be watching tomorrow night. Some of them might be on your radar already, and others may be new to you. But what they all have in common is the imprint of the Arena community working to make a difference up and down the ballot.

Arena Fellowship

First up: races where we have Arena Staff Fellows! As we’ve shared with you throughout the election season, this year we placed 14 Arena Staff Fellows in Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania to do the important work of flipping state legislative chambers from red to blue.

In Arizona, where districts each have two representatives and a senator, Arena Staff Fellows are supporting Legislative Districts 2, 13, and 16. Be on the lookout for race results for up-and-coming candidates like Jeanne Casten, Cindy Hans, Taylor Kerby, and Keith Seaman, along with incumbents like Rep. Jennifer Pawlik and Rep. Judy Schweibert.

In Michigan, Rep. Kevin Hertel’s re-election in Senate District 12 is a race to watch.

Finally, in Pennsylvania, we’ll be watching the all-women cadre of candidates supported by our Staff Fellows: Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz (HD-129), Mandy Steele (HD-33), Missy Cerrato (HD-151), and Lisa Borowski (HD-168). Look for their victories to help finally secure Democratic control of the Pennsylvania House.

Arena On the Ballot

Beyond our Arena Staff Fellows, Arena-trained staffers are working all over the country to win key races and protect our democracy. Here are just a few races where the Arena Community is leaving its mark.

  • In Georgia, eight Arena-trained staff work on the Coordinated Campaign, fighting to elect Stacey Abrams governor and keep Senator Raphael Warnock in the U.S. Senate.
  • In Kentucky, Arena trained-staffers are supporting Charles Booker in his fight to oust Senator Rand Paul.
  • In Texas, Arena-trained staff work to re-elect Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, to elect Beto O’Rourke governor, and to elect Luke Warford railroad commissioner. We also have several Run Academy superstars on the ballot, like Coach Cam Campbell for HD-132, Maxine Rebeles for Laredo City Council, and Zohaib Qadri for Austin City Council.
  • In Florida, Arena-trained staffer turned Arena trainer Cayana Mackey is Digital Director for Val Demings Senate race, and Run Academy grads are on the ballot, too; David O’Keefe is running for Tallahassee County Commissioner, while teacher Erin Dunne takes her classroom career and Run Academy lesson plan to fight for a seat on the Brevard County D2 School Board.

We’re proud of the impact Arena is having on these races and so many more across the country, and we hope you are, too. We look forward to tuning in on Tuesday to learn the results. Until then, stay strong, stay focused, and vote.

With gratitude,

Santiago Martinez
