Dear John,

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

As Election Day approaches tomorrow, November 8th, I want to encourage you to ensure your voice is heard. Make a plan to vote with your friends and family.

Polls open at 6:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM. Don’t know where your polling site is? Check here for your assigned polling location to ensure you are voting at the correct location.

What do you need to bring to the polls?

A valid government I.D. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Louisiana driver’s license or special ID card
  • LA Wallet digital driver’s license
  • United States military identification card that contains the applicant’s name and picture
  • Some other generally recognized picture ID that contains your name and signature. (This may include student IDs from local colleges)

If you are unable to provide an ID, you can still cast your vote by signature on a voter affidavit.

Want to know more about specific ballot measures?

If you are unsure about a specific ballot measure, check here for information on what voting “yes” or “no” means for each. You can also read the complete text of each proposed constitutional amendment from the Secretary’s office.
