Dear friends -
Well, I’m now back in Burlington after the final phase of our campaign blitz.
All together, over the last 12 days, we’ve been to seven states (Oregon, California, Nevada, Texas, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania) and have done 19 events. We’ve done rallies on college campuses, in union halls, at downtown theaters and outdoor parks. The turnouts for our events were quite strong, with a total of over 14,000 people in attendance. A lot of hard work went into making these events successful, and I want to take this opportunity to thank all of those people and organizations, including NextGen and MoveOn, for their great help.
Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania were the final stops on our GOTV tour. I wanted to share a few photos from these events.
MICHIGAN
We had a rally in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Saturday evening. We saw a very good turnout with more than 1,200 people, most of them young people.
PENNSYLVANIA
We started the day on Sunday morning in Pittsburgh with a canvass launch for Summer Lee, a great candidate for U.S. Congress. Billionaire-funded super PACS are now spending millions trying to defeat her. It was exciting, therefore, to see hundreds of folks at a union hall ready to go out and knock on doors in order to help her win.
Later in the afternoon, we did a very well attended rally at a downtown Pittsburgh park. People stayed despite a heavy rain. The energy level was very high.
After Pittsburgh we continued on to Philadelphia where we held our final rally in a downtown theater. Once again, excellent turnout and high energy.
Make no mistake: if young people and working people come out to vote in strong numbers tomorrow, we can win this election. Let's get it done. No matter where you live, make sure you vote. And while you’re at it, bring two or three of your friends or family members to the polls as well.
