We all know what she's accomplished throughout her leadership. She's been the progressive champion we need, fighting for expanded access to health care and mental health services, strengthening assistance for survivors of domestic violence and assault, creating economic development opportunities — all while bringing fiscal stability to the County's finances.
In her 4th term, she will focus on the distribution of Cook County’s $1 billion in American Rescue Plan Act funding, which must be allocated over the next three years and spent in the next five years. She will launch our $42 million guaranteed income program, the nation’s largest, a first-of-its-kind program to abolish up to $1 billion in medical debt, and historic investments in mental and behavioral health services including Cook County Health’s new Department of Mental Health. These programs will supplement Cook County’s legacy commitment to public health and public safety.
