But Grassley's changed over that time. He was in on Donald Trump's plot to overthrow our government--tweeting out on January 6th that he'd be certifying the electoral votes, not the Vice President. It was a lie. He claimed that the Affordable Care Act would "create death panels" and "pull the plug on grandma," the kind of dishonest garbage you'd expect from Alex Jones, not a longtime Senator.
Grassley consistently repeats right-wing conspiracies like the one that led to the attempted assassination of Nancy Pelosi (and nearly got her husband, Paul, killed). And he wants to suppress voting rights, which sadly is consistent with the shameful blemish attached to his name for all eternity--his vote against making Martin Luther King, Jr. day a federal holiday in the 1980s.
Mike Franken achieved the incredible distinction of becoming an admiral by not betraying his country like Grassley, but defending it. It seems Iowans have caught on, as the latest Des Moines Register poll has Mike within 3 points of Grassley, trailing 46%-43% with likely voters. Within the margin of error!
All of the major prognosticators have moved the race to a pure toss-up. Grassley is unpopular with Iowans, with Two-thirds believing he’s too old (89) to be running for another 6-year term. Franken. Can. Win. This. Race.
Can you please join us by giving $5, $10, $25 or whatever you can afford to help retire Chuck Grassley (FINALLY!) and send Admiral Mike Franken to the U.S. Senate?
Thank you, my friends, for continuing to fight right up to the election.
