Just six months ago, we took on a huge challenge: Running not one, but TWO elections in six months.

We got into this race unexpectedly, and from the beginning, people counted us out. But when the foundations of our democracy are under direct threat, we have to act — and that’s what this campaign has been about.

We took clear, strong stances to stand up for the fundamental rights and freedoms that are so important to people in this community, this district, and this country.

From abortion access to gun safety, from Social Security to climate change, Republicans in Congress are threatening our health, our safety, and our future.

I have two young sons, and I want to leave a country that is better for them than the one they entered. But far-right politicians are making that task harder and harder every single day.

We have a lot of work ahead of us, and I have a lot of fight left in me. I won’t succumb to cynical thinking — we have to respond to the circumstances with people-power, with positivity, and with the hope that together, we can and will make a difference.
