This can't continue: The SALT deduction cap has prevented 11 million Americans from deducting more than $323 billion in state and local taxes.

It's hurting families across the country, especially here in New Jersey. I hear from parents who are worried about being able to afford to send their kids to college and teachers who are concerned that they won't be able to afford the cost of living in New Jersey.

I've been fighting for New Jersey taxpayers to get their fair share ever since I entered Congress.

Many families are now being charged thousands more in taxes.

I have a plan that would roll back the Treasury Department's unilateral and unfair decision to bar states and towns from using charitable deductions and bring tax relief to families in New Jersey's 11th and across the country. My plan would raise the caps across the board, incentivize charitable deductions, and encourage homeownership.
