Hi John, it’s Pam Harder!
Lillian and I are about to go knock on some doors for Josh, but I wanted to quickly send you one last email about what this election means for our family.
Lillian is 7 months old now and we’re anxiously awaiting her first words. My hope is she’ll look back on this election and see how much her dad and I cared about her future.
I see how hard Josh works to make sure every child in our community has enough to eat, good schools and a safe community to grow up in. I also see him working hard on the existential crises of our time like climate change and saving our democracy.
And I know he’s doing all this work so Lillian has a future we can be proud of. And so we’re leaving this country better off for the next generation.
For me, this election is also a bitter sweet one. Right now, Lilian has fewer rights than I did when I was growing up. This election is also about whether or not Lillian will have the right to make decisions about her own body or if it will be predetermined by politicians.
Everything we care about is at stake in this election, and it depends on every single one of us voting before polls close tomorrow on election night. And there is still time to make a difference. That’s why I’m out here knocking on doors and sending you this email today.
