In a second, I’m going to ask you for $15 to keep up the momentum in our fight to elect gun safety champions who will ban assault weapons for good. But first, in honor of Election Day tomorrow, I want to remind you what’s at stake. It would mean so much to me if you could read my entire message and pitch in $15 in the next 24 hours. Then, please keep my family’s story in mind when you head to the polls. >>
This is deeply personal for me.
Four years ago, my sweet 14-year-old nephew, Alex, was gunned down at his desk -- along with 16 others at Parkland.
My nephew Alex Schachter

Alex was just a Freshman in high school who played trombone and baritone in the marching band with a dream of becoming a University of Connecticut Husky.
This year, our family received a diploma in Alex’s honor because he will never have the chance to walk the stage at graduation.
I never thought this could happen to my family.
But the truth is: What happened to Alex and my family could happen to any one of us -- especially when assault weapons are legally and easily accessible.
That’s why I’m working tirelessly to remind voters what happened at Parkland, Pulse, and so many other communities. Because if we want to keep our kids safe, we MUST kick every single NRA-backed politician OUT of office and elect gun safety champions who support banning assault weapons. I’m counting on 327 of our top supporters to stand with us before the polls close in 24 hours and help us reach voters in these final hours. So, I’m humbly asking: Can I count on you to pitch in $15 right now? >>
Gun violence doesn’t discriminate.
So please, don’t forget the stories of Alex, his 16 peers and educators, and the countless other lives stolen by assault weapons when you go vote.
Together, we can put an end to this senseless bloodshed and ban assault rifles for good.
Thank you for standing with me,
Gail Schwartz
