People For Supporter: You’re probably getting a lot of emails, calls, and texts. You may feel bombarded by partisan TV ads. There’s a lot to sift through, but one of the most important dangers of the upcoming midterms is that our right to vote may be in jeopardy.
Why? Because extremists are running for office with a plan to further push the boundaries of gerrymandering and redistricting efforts that will wipe out the power of the vote for historically marginalized communities. People For is on the ground in Georgia, for example, trying to turn out as many voters as possible to defeat extremists running for Governor, Senator and Secretary of State.
We hope you have a plan to vote. And if you’re able to, pitch in right now to our efforts to protect democracy, uphold the rule of law and defend the right to vote with a gift of any size.
If right-wing extremists gain any ground in Congress, we stand to lose even more voting rights protections.
Without maintaining progressive majorities in this election, we won’t be able to focus on holding insurrectionists accountable, nor will we be able to fight to reduce the influence of secret money in future elections.
