Now... there's another party worth mentioning that is not a True Texas Project event, but we're now working on filling our 5th table! What is it? The Texas Scorecard Conservative Leaders Awards Gala!
Every year our friends at Texas Scorecard host a big party where we all dress up and get to hang out. During the event, many of our favorite volunteers are awarded super cool sabres to recognize their leadership within the conservative movement. Lots of True Texans have received them now because True Texas Project has the best activists! Here are some of them...
The 1st year (2014) included James Ashby, the McCartys, and the Olcotts
(Former) TTP Board Member Janna Easton got hers in 2015 (along w/ Natalie Genco & Kelly Paulsen, not pictured)
In 2016 Fran Rhodes and David Medlin were added to the list!
2017: Jim Baxa (Lubbock Co-Director) received his saber! 2018: Jim Barnes (RGV) 2019: Brian Bledsoe 2020: Way to go, Chandler Crouch, Chris Ekstrom, and Laura/Mike Oakley
2021: Congrats to Hilary Rabeler (Tarrant Co-Director), Ammon Blair (RGV Co-Director), and Tom Glass (no pic)
Earning that saber has always been one of my proudest accomplishments, and so I list these names and share these pictures because I want those activists to know how appreciated they are and to help them relive the moment as well! But now even more special to me was last year's gala where I was surprised to receive the Torch of Freedom award! What an honor! I loved being surrounded by friends who have been with us all the way.
I want all of our activists to make earning a saber a new 2023 goal!
So far we have filled 46 seats to watch the award ceremony. That means we have 4 more seats left to complete 5 tables. Want in? Seats are $100 each. If you want one, please reply to this email.
