Dear Friend,

Tomorrow, voters will go to the polls and decide the future of our country—and there's no mincing words here, our democracy is at stake.

While we're in the home stretch of this crucial midterm, it's NOT the time to sit back, relax and see what happens. Now is the time to make sure everyone we know, especially friends and loved ones in rural areas that can tip this election, gets to the polls and makes their voices heard.

So, will you take a minute and forward this email to just five people, asking them to make a plan to vote? This election is just too important for anyone to sit out.

While we're at it, let's remind everyone that:

  • Election deniers are on the ballot at every level, from city council to governor and every office in between. If you care about free and fair elections, make a plan to vote.

  • Abortion has been largely banned in 13 states—but four others have amendments protecting reproductive freedom on the ballot, and voters in every state have the power to protect a woman's right to choose by keeping the House and Senate blue. If you care about women's access to lifesaving health care, make a plan to vote.

  • Senate Republicans are pledging to cut Social Security and cut Medicare if they win the majority—at a time when rural voters, especially seniors, are already struggling with rising costs. If you care about protecting seniors' hard-earned benefits, make a plan to vote.

  • Even though statistics show a direct link between weak gun safety laws and a rise in violent crime, Republicans are pledging to roll back common sense measures to keep guns out of the hands of abusers and criminals. If you care about keeping our schools and neighborhoods safe, make a plan to vote.

Thank you for all you have done to help us make sure rural voters are included in this crucial conversation about our country's future — and for recognizing rural America has a role to play in moving our country forward. I'm grateful for your solidarity and support.

Onward!

Heidi
