John,
We're just one day away from the 2022 Midterm Elections, and so many of the values we cherish — the health of our environment and climate, the future of our democracy, and so much more — are on the ballot.
From what we're hearing, the outcomes for Maine State House, Governor, and Congress will be extremely close, so every single vote will make a difference. So please, VOTE – and urge your friends and neighbors to vote, too.
Here's some information to help you vote, if you haven't yet:
VOTE IN-PERSON: Polls are open until 8pm tomorrow. As long as you are in line by 8pm, you can vote. You do not need to furnish an I.D. at your polling place if you are registered. You can find your polling place on the Maine Secretary of State's website.
REGISTER: If you're not registered to vote, it's not too late. Maine allows all eligible voters to register on Election Day at your town clerk's office or at your polling place. Bring identification and proof of residency to register.
ABSENTEE: If you have an absentee ballot, you can return it to your town clerk's office today or tomorrow. Please do not mail it, since it must be received by 8pm on Election Day. The office may not be open late, so please return your ballot during business hours or call ahead. You can find your municipal clerk's office here.
NOT SURE HOW TO VOTE? This election season, Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund endorsed a slate of conservation champions who will fight for policies to protect our clean air and water, combat the climate crisis, transition to a green and sustainable economy, and more. Check out our list of endorsements on our website.
The results of tomorrow's election will determine the future of the Maine we all love. We truly urge you to keep that mind when you cast your ballot tomorrow.
Thank you,
