Check out the latest from NYGOP Volume 78 | November 6th, 2022 This Week at the NYGOP Follow Us On Social Media! Dear Friend, This is it, folks. All of our hard work over the last year boils down to one day: Tuesday, November 8th. The momentum we have going into Election Day is historic and unlike anything seen since George Pataki's stunning victory in 1994. New Yorkers are fed up with out-of-control violent crime, skyrocketing inflation, and paying the highest taxes in the nation. Our current, unelected governor just doesn't get it and wants you to believe it's all a conspiracy. Today she called in a hail mary from the sitting President in a last-ditch attempt to save her failing campaign. Unfortunately for her, it won't work. This election will be a referendum on the failed Biden presidency, and if Americans have made one thing clear it is that they are sick of the policies of Biden and Hochul that have left them worse off than before they came into office. Everything we have been working toward has been leading up to this moment when we come together to SAVE OUR STATE. We have until 9:00 PM on Tuesday to get out every last vote for Lee Zeldin and the Republican Team. This is not a drill! If we work hard--keep making calls, sending texts, and emails, we will WIN. Don't leave any stone unturned. Democrats are doing everything they can to cling to power and I don't want to wake up on Wednesday falling short, wishing we did more. Thank you for your unwavering support in this mission to save our state. Let's go out and WIN on Tuesday! Sincerely, Nick Langworthy NYGOP Chairman Get Out The Vote Message From NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy WATCH ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY! - This is our chance to SAVE OUR STATE! Hochul points finger at ‘system, judges’ after slain Keaira Bennefield’s mom blames her New York Post Kathy Hochul has failed New Yorkers at every turn. She owns the crime crisis and the devastating loss of life.” Gov. Kathy Hochul pointed the finger at "the system" after tragic mom-of-three Keaira Bennefield was executed in Buffalo less than 24 hours after her estranged husband was sprung from jail on no bail over a domestic violence incident. “This is a disgusting, craven new low — even for her,” said Nick Langworthy, state GOP chairman and congressional candidate in upstate District 23 that includes Erie County. “Kathy Hochul has the power to change these laws today but instead she was their biggest cheerleader and continues to double down,” he continued. “Keaira would still be alive today if she had acted. She is unfit to serve as governor and Election Day can’t come soon enough.” And her Republican gubernatorial rival, Lee Zeldin, also chimed in, saying “blood is on her hands.” “Keaira’s three kids will now be growing up without a mother, because of Kathy Hochul’s soft on crime, feckless leadership. She refuses to support judges having discretion to weigh dangerousness,” he said. Under current Empire State laws, judges cannot weigh the “dangerousness” of a perp in considering bail. It meant that the judge who freed Bennefield could not even consider that he had gone to prison for 15 years previously for kidnapping another ex at gunpoint in 2000. Read Full Here Opinion: Why Lee Zeldin will win City And State OpEd By NYC Council Republican Leader Joe Borelli In 2014, a low turnout year, Republican Rob Astorino garnered just over 40% of the vote. In every established poll leading up to Election Day, Cuomo never dropped below 52%, while Astorino never got higher than 34%. That means Astorino got a 6- or 7-point bump between the fall polling and Election Day. This year, Hochul has been barely treading water at or barely above 50% in the polls, while Zeldin did not poll lower than 41% in October. A recent Marist College poll also revealed a wide enthusiasm gap between the candidates, while the Siena College and NewsChannel 13-SurveyUSA polls clearly showed the GOP has momentum. In 2018, with record turnout by motivated Democratic voters, it was Cuomo who saw the big fourth-quarter swing. Is anyone suggesting voters are eager to pull the lever for Democrats this year? Absolutely not. That’s why the 46% that backed Zeldin in a Quinnipiac University survey is probably his real floor. We also should not forget what happened the last time a Cuomo won three straight elections. Mario Cuomo was up about 4 percentage points in the polls during the final week of the campaign for his fourth term as governor in 1994. He lost to George Pataki by 3 points. Read Full Here Zeldin calls out Hochul's reticence to address crime after West Side jogger raped Fox News New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin sounded off Friday at an "Ingraham Angle" town hall in Manhattan, hours after the state and city's latest high-profile violent crime occurred only a few miles away. Zeldin, a congressman from Suffolk County, referenced the rape of a jogger on the West Side. He pointed to opponent Gov. Kathy Hochul's claims the crime issue is a perception problem and that Zeldin is one of several Republican "data-deniers." "Here's the best part of that clip … she's saying that right next to them showing all the different major crime categories that are way up year-over-year.… She says [the crime issue] is a conspiracy. And even CNN this morning, when she's doing that side-by-side, is showing … major crime category one after another," Zeldin said. "What people want is for their candidates … to be talking about how 'we understand why you're upset about this: Here are my solutions to fix it.' We will have zero tolerance for crime where you support our men and women in law enforcement," he began, then referencing his pledge to fire New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg amid his lax prosecutorial discretion. Read Full Here Zeldin draws big crowd outside Albany: 'People are energized' Politico As GOP gubernatorial nominee Lee Zeldin entered the final days of a race with narrowing polls, he led a large crowd in a rural town near Albany through the type of energized campaign stop that have been absent from Republican efforts in a blue state for many years. “We’ve had decades where at that moment in time, the state was at a crossroads, and everyone stepped up, united as New Yorkers to take control of our destiny as a state,” Zeldin said before addressing a crowd measured in the thousands outside a golf course about 10 miles south of the state Capitol. “This is one of those moments, where everybody’s just decided we’re going to work together and get this done.” Read Full Here Lee Zeldin will provide the leadership New York is missing from Kathy Hochul NYPost OpEd by Democrat City Councilman Bob Holden If you’re brave enough to ride the subway, you might have noticed the recruiting ad for Norfolk, Va., police officers. Even a small city like Norfolk is confident they can entice NYPD officers to leave the city. You would think the governor of the Empire State would be insulted. But when asked during the debate why New York leads the country in residents fleeing, she refused to answer. When Gov. Hochul does answer a question she only screams “Abortion” and “Trump,” in the hope that magical forces will rescue her campaign. I have been a Democrat my whole life, but this election I’m voting Lee Zeldin for governor. Our quality of life has significantly deteriorated under Hochul. Without a change this election, we’re going to get more of the same and our problems will spiral beyond anyone’s control. For decades, I voted for Democrats because they were the best party for working-class New Yorkers. As a union member, I believed in the Democratic Party’s vision that working families need support. Now, those same families are constantly in harm’s way. They’re heavily taxed with deteriorating services, especially on our subways. Transit crime is up 41%. Fees and runaway inflation reduce the real-income of New Yorkers, a problem going to be made worse by Hochul’s congestion pricing scheme. Read Full Here Ready to take back our state?
