God Bless America & Our Veterans
Dear Friends,

Today, I attended events in Norwalk and Stamford honoring our Veterans. We owe a debt of gratitude to our active and retired servicemembers and their families. We must always remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our nation.

I am the proud daughter, sister and niece of military members who served our country with purpose and pride. My father served in the Army during WWII, and his brother, Flight Officer Elmer Jackson, lost his life in the Allied Invasion of Sicily. My father-in-law survived 35 tail gunner missions during WWII. Retired Air Force Col. John C. Jackson III, my brother, dedicated 26 years of his life to our country. I’m deeply grateful for and honor all those who are willing to serve and protect the freedom we too often take for granted.
My decision to run for Congress was solidified on August 26, 2021… the day 13 U.S. service members lost their lives during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. We should never have let politics get in the way of the safety of our nation and our military.

Sadly, this rushed departure means that thousands of Afghans who risked their lives to protect our troops are in danger. We must do all we can to help get them and their families out of Afghanistan and to safety.

As our pledge reminds us, we are “One Nation Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All”. Now, more than ever, these words serve both as a reminder of the greatness of the United States of America and as a call to action to stand together as the beacon of freedom our world needs now more than ever!

These are among the many reasons why I have chosen to run for U.S.Congress - to be in service to Connecticut’s Fourth District and for a brighter future. In the important words of Former Navy SEAL, Senior Chief James Hatch, “if we truly wish to honor our Veterans, we must live life full and take care of one another and our great country.”

I hope I have earned your trust and support.

God Bless America and our Veterans!
