A Busy Week in the Tenth District
In addition to celebrating efforts to reduce recidivism and get local veterans back on their feet, I also had a great time visiting some of the people and places that make the Tenth District such a wonderful place to call home. Tuesday morning I visited St. Stephens Elementary School in Catawba County. I enjoyed the tour, interacting with students, and learning about the Dual Language immersion program at the school. Many thanks to Principal Kathy Keane, District Superintendent Matt Stover, and all the school faculty and staff for hosting me.
I am proud to serve Tenth District farmers in Congress and to support the vital role they play in our communities. This week, I was in Iredell County where I was honored to receive the Friend of Farm Bureau Award for my efforts during this Congress. Agriculture is the number one industry in our state and delivers essential goods to our families. Thank you to the American Farm Bureau Federation and the North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation for this tremendous honor and your advocacy on behalf of the agriculture community. My next stop was with the team at Kooks Headers and Exhaust in Statesville. Kooks is a family owned business that has been producing essential parts for racing and car enthusiasts since 1962. Businesses like Kooks are why I introduced the RPM Act to protect them from EPA overreach. I will continue the fight to ensure our motorsports heritage is protected and our motorsports economy can continue thrive in Iredell County.
It was nice to end my visit at Station #6, the newest Mooresville Fire-Rescue station, where Chief Curt Deaton gave me a tour. This facility is a tremendous asset to Mooresville and I appreciate the opportunity to present a flag in honor of the official opening earlier this year.
