Protect Our Children and Support Families

As a mother, I am deeply concerned with the impact of pandemic-related policies on our youth. Despite being the least susceptible to serious illness, children faced the greatest disruptions - being kept out of school, forced into remote learning and isolated from friends and activities. The impacts have been most profound on the lower and middle class families who did not have access to technology nor the ability for parents to work remotely. We are now seeing the consequences of those tragic and heavy handed government policies:

* A growing youth mental health crisis.
* Declining academic scores in all districts.
* Language and speech deficits among our youngest learners and students where English is their second language.
* The spectrum of mandated COVID vaccines to attend school with no allowance for religious exemptions.
* Biased hiring practices in our school districts.
* Not enough support in the classrooms with mental, social and behavioral health.

*It’s time for CHANGE and a leader that champions children, parents and families! Parents deserve choices in where their children will learn best.*

*My opponent is no friend to schools, students and parents!*

* Himes has ignored the pleas from parents, teachers, and superintendents by voting *against "Protecting Our Children" Act that would have provided SROs.*
* Himes voted against mental health counselors funded by remaining COVID dollars.
* Himes has been silent as federal officials dictate harmful social doctrine in the classroom.
* Himes voted against an amendment to inform parents when their children receive mental health, crisis or other wellness services in school.

*Every student deserves access to quality education in a safe, unbiased learning environment.*

*IT'S TIME! Vote for Jayme Stevenson for Congress on Tuesday to protect parent’s rights to know when their children are in distress. Bring positive change to CT, vote Jayme to put the people of our congressional district FIRST!*

*ABOUT JAYME*
I’m running for Congress to bring common sense and balance back to Washington and to give voice to the people of the 4th Congressional District who have been left behind by politicians working for themselves and a national party agenda.  As a trusted leader and mother of five children, I understand the impacts government policies have on our communities and promise to fight for Connecticut children, families and businesses.
