In a short time, we've accomplished more than I ever could have imagined.
We successfully made our way through all of Pennsylvania's 67 counties to gauge public support for recreational marijuana. What we found is that the majority of Pennsylvanians support it, and I hope the General Assembly will respond to this call.
As Chair of the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons, I'm working hard to transform the institution into a force for good instead of another obstacle in our broken criminal justice system. We want to make sure that no one is condemned to die in prison that, in the interest of justice, would be better served by living on the outside and contributing to society.
And best of all, I get to serve as a progressive backstop for my friend Governor Tom Wolf.
Of course, we've met the limits of our progress at times. But I STILL believe that there is so much more we can do if we continue to stand strong together. So I have to ask:
